Studios:

Studio rooms are part of our main facility and are designed for residents who value their independence and are asssisted by an appropriate level of support. All meals, linen, housekeeping and activities are inclusive.

Each of our 14 spacious studio units feature a kitchenette, private ensuite bathroom and views to beautifully landscaped gardens.  Residents may start the day with a leisurely breakfast in their room or choose to join friends in the dining room with the morning paper.

Our 24 hour Rest Home wings comprises of 35 larger than standard single rooms, each with ensuite, private phone and television access. Also provided is a large lounge for activities and entertainment as well as smaller intimate lounge areas for visiting family and friends.

Quality and continuity of care for all Residents is assured by Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses, working with and supervising Caregivers who have been suitably trained in the care of the Elderly.

**Rest Home**
At the heart of Elmswood, is our rest home - the hub of the village. Visitors talk about feeling the friendliness as soon as they come through the main doors.

The rest home offers high quality, full residential care, 24 hours a day, with a registered nurse on site at all times. Our nurses are backed up by a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, dietitians, and other health professionals who visit Elmswood Retirement Village throughout the week. Respite and daycare are also available.

Elmswood has a reputation for great food, prepared on site by our chefs and kitchen staff. As well as delicious and nutritious meals, fresh home made baking is on the menu everyday. We also cater for a wide variety of dietary needs.

Activities and entertainment are offered throughout the week in the Rest Homes large main lounge. Intimate sitting areas are also scattered around the facility, giving residents a variety of places to read a book, have a chat and a coffee with friends or family, or simply take in the view of our beautiful gardens.

Our 54 Rest Home rooms are private and all located in the main building. Residents are encouraged to bring personal furniture and treasures to make their new home, their own.

**Hospital**
Our 25-bed hospital is suitable for people requiring hospital and palliative level care. A registered nurse is on site at all times and is supported by a team of healthcare assistants, as well as a multi-disciplinary team of doctors, physiotherapists, podiatrists, dietitians, and other health professionals who visit throughout the week.

We pride ourselves on our clinical care and commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest innovations in aged care. We are absolutely patient-focused and dedicated to looking after all aspects of a persons wellbeing. We want people to feel as good as possible about themselves and their treatment, while they are in hospital, and do our utmost to achieve this by paying attention to the big and small things in life. There is always joy, laughter, and regular activities for those who want to participate.

We know that having a loved one in hospital can be a difficult and stressful time for families and we do all that we can to make families feel welcome and comfortable while they are spending time with us. Aparangi Village The name 'Aparangi' may be translated to mean "a gathering or group of distinguished people" and as part of a community that has it all, Aparangi provides a safe and secure rural retirement environment. Accommodation and care options at Aparangi are wide ranging and endeavour to provide a lifestyle suitable for each resident or potential resident. The majority of the Village is devoted to highly independent "own your own housing" where a Lifetime Interest is taken on a site and a house of the residents choice (subject to Trust Board approval) can be built.  Alternatively a choice of existing dwellings ranging from three bedroom+ houses to smaller detached houses and terraced townhouses, can be made.  Simple Trust Board conditions of residency are in place which are designed to preserve an 'open' character to the grounds and engender an atmosphere of tranquility. As the ability of a resident to care for a large home diminishes, there is the option to move to smaller variations of their home.  Further purchase options are available with Semi Independent Flats adjoining the Residential Care Unit.  Also available are double or single bedroom rental terraced flats. 

Residential Care Unit :: The Residential Care Unit is a rest home facility set in park-like surroundings at the heart of Aparangi Village. It is certified to provide healthcare services from the Ministry of Health thus meeting high quality standards in addition to the reputation it has earned over a number of years. 

The Rentals :: Rental Housing is another option available at Aparangi.  This is usually available only to those people unable financially to provide for their own housing.  There is a demand for this housing, consequently a waiting list is held.  Flats are allocated on the basis of need.

Semi-Independent Flats :: The Te Kauwhata Retirement Trust Board has developed Semi Independent Flats as a means of providing independence but with a higher level of care if required. These are adjacent to the Residential Care Unit with individual external entrances or can be accessed from the main entrance of the Residential Care Unit.  All are self-contained  with either one or two bedrooms with ensuite bathroom as well as  separate lounge, dining and kitchenette. 

The Terraces :: The Terraces are the foundation  courtyard townhouses which were established as the core of "Own Your Own Housing" at the Village.  All of these homes have northern aspects and many with beautiful views of the local Te Kauwhata scenery and beyond.  They are either one or two bed roomed with lounge and dining leading to a terraced (in some instances enclosed) area.

Situated on 9 hectares at the end of Margaret Place, close to Gisborne Hospital and the Lytton Road shopping centre, the first stage of Beetham Village is well established.

The hub of the village is Beetham Lodge - the community centre with facilities for more than 20 recreational activities. Villagers have the use of an indoor heated swimming pool and spa pool area, gymnasium, library, art and craft studio, workshop and much more.

Outdoors the communal recreation area with park-like landscaping and walking tracks also offers a bowling green, croquet area, putting green, petanque, childrens play area and barbeque amongst others.
 
The village, located about 4.5kms from the city centre, has its own bus for group outings
and shopping excursions.
